There are many different liquids that need storing in the tanks that we design and manufacture here at Tuffa, and one of these liquids is Adblue. Adblue is a fuel additive that is produced with the intention of reducing emissions.
All of our Adblue tanks are designed around the chemical to ensure that it remains safe and secure at all times.
What is Adblue?
Adblue is used in diesel to reduce emission output from engines. Many heavy duty commercial vehicles have been fitted with selective catalytic engines that require a special urea solution to adhere to new European legislation.
Typically, when combined with fuel, Adblue will replace 5% of diesel consumption, reducing emissions accordingly.
If stored correctly, Adblue will last between six and twelve months, however, if conditions within an Adblue tank are just right, it can last up to 18 months in total. It freezes at -11ºC and quality is dramatically reduced above +30ºC, so storage conditions must be optimal to ensure that quality is preserved. Outside of these temperatures, it is advised that you refrain from using these products as it will not perform in the desired or expected manner.
Tuffa Adblue Tanks
At Tuffa, we manufacture Adblue Tanks to bespoke requirements between 1350 and 15000 litres capacities, in a variety of shapes and sizes to suit your space and needs. All tanks are bunded for protection against leaks and overfilling, as well as protecting the environment from any damage that may have otherwise occurred.
Luckily, the weather conditions in the UK are never severe enough to warrant climate and temperature control tanks. However, this option is available if required.
As with all of our products, our Adblue tanks are produced to the highest standards possible, in line with legislation specification and incorporate specialist equipment for use with the solution.
