When one is ordering a storage tank from Tuffa, many a decision will need to be made on specification and features, with one of the most fundamental being whether to opt for a plastic or steel storage tank. Steel oil tanks certainly offer many benefits, including a range of colours and finishes to choose from, not to mention their long serviceable life of more than 30 years when they are suitably maintained.
However, our steel tanks are especially often chosen by those who are a little more demanding with regard to specification. We manufacture our tanks in any dimensions that the customer requires, and can incorporate whatever design touches are required in order to make the tank suitable for a given site. Standard features of these tanks include a minimum 110% bund capacity – as is required for regulatory compliance – and the fitting of only premium ancillary equipment.
Whatever colour, capacity and thickness you desire for your own oil tank, we are happy to listen to your needs, having gained considerable experience and aptitude over our more than 25 years of operation in the tailoring of oil storage solutions to the stiffest demands. Our highly skilled fabricator welders are used to creating exceptional quality steel products, manufactured in mild steel to BS EN/10 025.
Even if you order the most standard of our steel bunded tanks, you can look forward to such features as a vent, 1″ BSP bottom outlet, overfill prevention valve, lifting lugs and channel runners. Certain bunded models also incorporate a 2″ fill point, either on top of the tank or located within the cabinet, as well as a visual float gauge or hydrostatic contents gauge. Optional extras for our bunded steel tanks are many, encompassing the likes of fire protection, an electronic remote reading gauge and a locking fill cap with two keys.
